Statistics service registers 0.1% deflation in Russia in September

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- The Federal State Statistics Service has registered 0.1% deflation in September after record deflation of 0.5% in August, the service said in a statement on Tuesday.

In annual terms, inflation slowed down to 3% in September from 3.3% in August.

Consumer prices grew 1.7% in Russia in January–September.

In 55 regions of Russia, prices for consumer goods and services decreased 0.1–0.7% in September thanks to a 0.2–2% fall of prices for foods. But in 13 regions of Russia prices for consumer goods and services rose by 0.1% and more in the month, the service said.
